My thoughts on the 3DS global pricecut and the Ambassador program.

Nintendo have announced that the 3DS is going to have a global price cut of 1/3 less than 6 months into the life of the Nintendo 3DS.As I had bought my console at launch for the full price my first feeling was that I had been betrayed as I had supported the 3DS from the start and Nintendo had decided to cut the price so soon after the launch of the console. After thinking I think It was a move that has benefited myself and all early adopters of the Nintendo 3DS the first reason is the Ambassador program which gives anybody who connects their 3DS to the e-shop application before the 12 of august 20 free games. The 20 free games are 10 NES games and 10 GBA games.Nintendo have only unveiled 5 games of each platform the NES games the have been announced so far are:Super Mario Bros,  Donkey Kong Jr , Balloon Fight , Ice Climber and The Legend of Zelda. These games will be made available to the public at some point and 3DS Ambassadors will be able to download an update which will give the games multiplayer when the public versions are released. The 5 GBA games announced so far include Super Mario Advance 3: Yoshi's Island , Mario Kart Super Circuit, Metroid Fusion , Mario vs Donkey Kong , WarioWare Inc Mega Microgame$.The GBA advance games will be exclusive to 3DS Ambassadors which is a nice thing to give to early adopters. The Ambassador program is a good Idea and makes up to early adopters for the price cut.The NES games will be available on the 1st of September and the GBA games will be distributed before the end of 2011.The price drop was a good Idea as It has given the 3DS the edge in price point in the upcoming 3DS vs PS Vita war which is arguably one of most important edges to have over your competitors in a console war this is a good thing as developers want to develop games for the largest user base so it could mean the 3DS would be more likely to get things like Monster Hunter for example. This has been a good move by Nintendo.Thank you for reading.

"Ridge Racer 3D" Review

I bought Ridge Racer 3D with my 3DS so now I think it is time to give it a review.
The game is one of the best launch titles that the 3DS has.RR3D's graphics are decent not the best on the 3DS but decent. The game play is very fun as you drift around tight bends to charge up your nitrous tank and the circle pad makes it comfortable to control you can also use the touch screen to change the scale of the map of the track and the point of view. There is a decent amount of content on the 3DS game card as there are quite a few cars and 15 tracks that quadruple to 60 tracks as they can all be played in reverse, mirrored and reverse/mirrored.The 3D effect is one of most effective ways the 3DS' 3D has been used so far as it allows players to tell the distance between the car and the road and other cars much more accurately than in 3d.
The games' music is okay and there is a pacman disc for fans of pacman. The games menus is good as it allows you to navigate to what you want quickly.I have been able to clock up 40 hours on this game so I recommend it to anyone who likes racing games as this is the best racing game on the 3DS until Mario Kart 7 hits.
Score 7.5 out of 10
